The Nigeria Customs Service generated N1.38 trillion in revenue between July and August 2026.
Customs spokesman, Abdullahi Maiwada, disclosed this on Tuesday at the joint security agencies spokespersons’ press briefing in Abuja.
He said the service collected N784.66 billion in July and N595.58 billion in August, bringing its two-month revenue to N1.38 trillion.
The Apapa Area Command recorded a historic N323 billion in revenue in July, its highest monthly collection, before setting a new single-day record of N28.1 billion on 18 August. The figure surpassed the previous record of N20.1 billion set in September 2025.
On trade facilitation, Maiwada said the service processed 90,985 Single Goods Declarations — 55,731 in July and 35,254 in August — as well as 8,873 Pre-Arrival Assessment Reports during the two months.
Export performance also improved, with the Lilypond Export Command recording $792.57 million in export value in the second quarter of 2026, up 24.35 per cent from $599.6 million in the same period of 2025.
Export container throughput rose by 32.27 per cent to 5,510, while agricultural exports reached $422.09 million. Manufactured goods nearly tripled to $350.67 million, and collections under the Nigeria Export Supervision Scheme rose by 9.52 per cent to N5.38 billion.
Between July and August, the command processed 9,322 export containers carrying agricultural produce, manufactured goods, solid minerals and other commodities.
He said the NCS also intensified anti-smuggling operations, with Area Commands and Federal Operations Units recording seizures with a combined Duty Paid Value exceeding N61.3 billion.
