The Federal Government has approved the purchase of 200 Toyota Land Cruiser Buffalo V6 vehicles by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
The vehicles will be purchased at the sum of of N12.5 billion plus an additional sum of N522 million for insurance.
The approval was granted to the NCS on Tuesday at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, who confirmed the FEC approval, said insurance cover for the vehicles will be provided by NEM Insurance Plc.
“All the vehicles will be CNG-powered,” he said.
Recall that on Monday, the Federal Government directed all its Ministries, Departments and Agencies to procure only vehicles and generators powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
