A 40-year-old man identified as Segun Oguntunde has been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Tecno spark mobile phone at Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos State.
Oguntunde is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 21, 2019 at about 5pm at 41 Road, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to steal one Tecno spark phone valued at N42,000 property of one Okoye Augustina,” Ekpo said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.
The surety, according to the Magistrate must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government. The surety must also be a pastor or a blood relative to the defendant.
He adjourned the matter till April 1, 2019 for mention.
