A 31-year-old man, identified as Momoh Seun, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly threatening to damage vehicles, residential houses and shops with cutlass in Apapa.
Seun is facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawfull possession of offensive weapons, fighting and threats to damage properties.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 9, 2019 along Ayinde Street, Ajegunle, Apapa.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large, found armed with cutlass and other offensive weapons in public place without authority and took part in street fight,” Inedu said.
The prosecutor also said that the defendant intimidated and threatened to damage vehicles, residential houses, and shops with cutlass.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 51, 54(7), 56(1a) and 52(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.
Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.
The surety, according to the Magistrate must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the matter till April 8, 2019 for mention.
