Man docked for stealing 360 litres of diesel

Four docked for stealing items worth N.7m at Apapa port
A 32-year-old man, Kingsley Obot, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 360 litres of diesel belonging to one Femi Akinbola.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Alexander Esebamen told the court the accused committed the offence on October 26, 2017 at about 2:30am at Sandfield, First Gate, Tin Can Island Port, Lagos. 

Esebamen said the accused stole 360 litres of diesel valued N72,000 property of one Femi Akinbola of No. 20, Oladimeji , Alimosho, Lagos.

The accused, a resident of No. 62 Delion Street, Kirikiri according to the police, committed another offence on the same day at about 4:30pm at the same location when he allegedly assaulted and inflicted injury on the left hand of one Isiaka Shittu, with a cutlass.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 285 and 171 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges brought against him.

The Magistrate, Mrs Osho Adebiyi granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till November 13, 2017 for mention.
