A 23-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel Utiang, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing mobile phones and wrist-watches of a port worker identified as Osagie Obaseki.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Ogbonna told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 11, 2018 at about 12noon at No 49 Kofo Abayomi Street, Apapa.
Ogbonna said the defendant stole one I-phone 6, one Techno phone and two wrist-watches belonging to Obaseki.
According to him, the offence contravenes Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge bothering on conspiracy and stealing.
Magistrate Adenike Alaka granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till February 21, 2018 for mention.
