A 27-year-old man, identified as Osondu Cajetan, was on Thursday pleaded guilty before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for damaging the side glass of a truck in Lagos.
Cajetan is facing a two-count charge of unlawful damage and stealing.
The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police Gabriel Ekundayo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 12, 2019 at 5:30am at Maza-Maza bus stop on Old Ojo Road, Lagos.
“The defendant unlawfully and wilfully damaged the side glass of truck with registration number LND 666 XR, valued at N7,000 property of Eagle Haulage Nigeria Limited,” Ekundayo said.
The prosecutor also said that the defendant stole one Vodafone android phone valued at N28,000 property of one Uchenna Igwe.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 350 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
Magistrate Ramotalai Morafa adjourned the case till June 18, 2019 for facts and sentence.
