Man pleads guilty to stealing N2.5m car in Apapa

A 23-year-old car washer, Abiodun Olufemi, was on Wednesday pleaded guilty to stealing a Toyota Highlander car valued at N2.5 million in Apapa, Lagos.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tedunjaye, told an Apapa Magistrate’s Court that the defendant committed the offence on December 7, 2019 at about 2pm at No 238, Ojo Road, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos.

“The defendant being a car washer for a car wash company stole a Toyota Highlander car with registration number SMK 289 EA valued at N2.5 million property of one Ismaila Ibrahim,” Tedunjaye said.

According to her, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015. 

Magistrate B.M Amore adjourned the case till January 23, 2020 for facts and sentence.
