A 25-year-old man, Mohammed Jamilu was arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for stealing rail fastenings at a train station.
He pleaded guilty to the one-count charge brought against him.
The prosecuting counsel, Sergeant Friday Chinedu told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 28, 2017 at about 3pm at Wada train station, Apapa, Lagos.
Sergeant Chinedu said the 25-year-old, Jamilu stole 35 pieces of pandrol clips (rail fastenings) valued N52,500 property of Nigeria Railway Corporation.
According to him, the offence contravened section 285(b) of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.
Magistrate Temitope Babalola adjourned the case till September 6, 2017 for facts and sentence.
