A 28-year-old man, identified as Ibrahim Isah was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly robbing a clearing agent at gun point in Apapa.
Isah is facing a three-count charge bothering on conspiracy, possession of firearm and robbery.
The port prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 17, 2018 at about 6am at Kirikiri bridge, Apapa.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to have in his possession of one locally made pistol with five rounds of ammunition which he was unable to give account of how he came about it,” Esebamen said.
Esebamen added that the defendant robbed one Okoro Isaac at gun point and collected his Tecno WPX plus mobile phone valued at N28,000.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 330 and 297(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
Isah pleaded guilty to all the charges against brought against him.
Magistrate O.M Ajayi adjourned the case till July 30, 2018 and instructed that the case file should be duplicated and sent to Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old motorboy identified as Abiodun Yusuf was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa
Magistrates’ Court for allegedly displaying a long dagger in a manner to cause terror to passersby at the Tin Can Island Port Complex (TCIPC).
Yusuf is facing a one-count charge bothering on breach of peace.
The port prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 8, 2018 at about 6:30am at Sandfield along the port access road opposite Port & Cargo terminal gate, Tin Can Island Port, Apapa.
“The defendant did unlawfully display a long dagger without lawful authority in such a manner as to cause terror to passers-by,” Esebamen said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 51 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The motor boy pleaded guilty to the charge against him.
Magistrate A.K Tella adjourned the case till July 6, 2018 for facts and sentence.
