NCS destroys N 875,317 contraband in Sokoto

The Sokoto/ Zamfara/ Kebbi Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS), on Monday destroyed contraband, comprising frozen fish and chicken, with paid duty value of N 875,317.

The Controller in-charge of the command, Mr Ahmed Isyaku, and officials of National Agency for Food And Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) supervised the destruction.

Isyaku said the goods were seized on Friday by the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone ” B” along Kangiwa – Makera Road in Kebbi.

“I am advising smugglers to look for more legitimate trades as officers and men of the service will continue to be on red alert.

“We will continue to work diligently to ensure that no contraband is smuggled into Nigeria,” he said.
