The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), over the weekend donated a 100KVA transformer to the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA).
Director General of the agency, Dr. Joseph Odumodu had in March during a courtesy visit to the ANLCA promised to donate a 100KVA transformer to the association.
Commissioning the transformer over the weekend, the National Secretary of ANLCA, Dr. Emma Opara expressed appreciation to the management of SON for making good its promise of donating the transformer.
Opara, who was represented by the association’s National Publicity Secretary, Kayode Farinto disclosed that the ANLCA National Secretariat had been powered by generator only before the transformer donation.
He said, “ANLCA won’t use the transformer alone rather we will extend electricity supply to the neighbors who are also on the same street.
“It is going to be a kind of Corporate Social Responsibility from ANLCA to the people living around. Out of the 100KVA our secretariat will consume 20KVA then we give out the remaining 80KVA.
Meanwhile, ANLCA had described as untrue reports that it had suspended its President, Prince Olayiwola Shittu.
“ANLCA President is not on suspension, the people saying that are making a beer parlour statement.
“My President couldn’t attend this event today because he has another official engagement.
“To the best of my knowledge the President has not done anything contrary to our Constitution that will warrant his suspension,” Farinto said.
