Two alleged drug peddlers, including a Nigerian, have been arrested with heroin worth Rs 45 lakh recovered from them by India’s Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch, police said on Tuesday.
Har Govind Singh (33) and Nigerian national Ikenna Okoye (33) were arrested from the India’s Vikas Puri area last week, a senior crime branch official said.
Fine quality heroin weighing 380 grams, worth Rs 45 lakh (about N25,142,400.00) in international market, was recovered from the duo, he said.
The Crime Branch had received information that Singh, a resident of Sirsa (Haryana), indulged in supply of heroin after procuring it from Okoye who live at Uttam Nagar here, said the official.
Okoye, who hails from Anambra State, travelled to India in July 2102, on tourist visa and started living with his fellow countrymen.
“He fell in bad company and to earn quick and easy money started supplying drugs in the area of Uttam Nagar and Dwarka,” added the official.
