Nigeria’s coronavirus cases rise to 407 

 

Nigeria on Saturday reported 256 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), taking the total number of infections in Africa’s most populous country to 7,526.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said of the total, 2,174 infected persons have recovered from the virus while 221 have died.

Lagos State, the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria, recorded 133 new cases while Oyo recorded 32.

Other states with new cases include Edo – 28; Ogun – 23; Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja – 22; Plateau – 6; Kaduna – 5; Borno – 3; Niger – 3; Kwara – 2; Bauchi – 2; Anambra – 2; and Enugu – 2.

In total, Lagos has 3,357 cases; Kano – 883; FCT – 469; Katsina – 308; Borno – 250 and Jigawa – 241.
