The game, which is scheduled to take place in Lagos at the NPA Sports Ground from 2nd to 5th October 2019, will see athletes compete in two new games – basketball and swimming alongside other traditional games such as football, athletics, long jump, lawn tennis, chess, badminton, scrabble and table tennis.

The General Manager, Human Resources of NPA and Chairman of Central NIPOSA, Yahaya Bukar, who briefed journalists on the event weekend, said NPA appreciates the place of sports as it enhances the mental and physical well – being of the work force.

He added that preparations and training are already in top gear, as zonal preliminaries have been decided across the
ports.

Bukar assured that the games holding in Lagos will enjoy excellent organisation on ultra-modern sporting facilities owing to the recent full upgrade of sports infrastructure at the NPA Bode Thomas Sports Centre.

He said exciting games have been prepared for the fans that would make their way to Bode Thomas on daily basis throughout the duration of the games as several terminal operators and industry stakeholders have indicated interest in participating.

Some of the participating operators, according to him, include APM Terminals, Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TCIT) and SIFAX, among others.
