Ogun State Governor, Amosun, hosts NAGAFF
…commends the association for projecting Olokola FTZ
Amosun gave this commendation on Friday when he hosted a delegation of NAGAFF members on a courtesy visit to his office at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta – the state capital of Ogun State, as part of preparations for the association’s Annual General Meeting scheduled to hold in Abeokuta from December 6 to 8, 2013.
The NAGAFF delegation led by its national president, Chief Eugene Nweke, had during the visit made a presentation on the benefits of the Olokola Free Trade Zone to the development of the state.
Amosun impressed by the presentation said that it depicts the depth of NAGAFF’s knowledge about the industry and pledged the support of his government to the project and to NAGAFF on its impending AGM.
He used the occasion to assure investors that his government would encourage the development of all mode of transportation to boost the business of supply chain even as he commended NAGAFF for opening new frontiers in the discourse about the Olokola FTZ, which opens to deep sea water.
Earlier in his presentation, the National President of NAGAFF, Chief Eugene Nweke informed the Governor that NAGAFF chose Ogun State to host the association’s 2013 AGM themed Free Trade Zone As A Catalyst For International Trade Distribution and Networking to draw the world’s attention to the economic benefits of the Olokola FTZ, ably complemented by specialized Ogun Rail Industrial FTZ and the Ogun Guandong FTZ.
To harness the full potentials of the FTZ, Chief Nweke advised the Ogun State Government to pursue the acquisition of a certificate of status and recognition as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) from the Nigeria Customs Service by incorporating and using a subsidiary of the Olokola FTZ to pursue large scale importation using the FTZ as warehouse for such imports.
