Police arraign man for stealing N220,000 motorcycle

The police on Wednesday arraigned a 24-year-old man, Abubakar Mustapha, before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one Boxer motorcycle valued at N200,000 in Lagos.

Mustapha is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tedunjaye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on October 18, 2019 at about 6am at Adamawa Village, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos.

“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal one Boxer motorcycle valued at N220,000 property of one Sahura Harisu,” Tedunjaye said.

According to her, the offence is punishable under section 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Magistrate M.B Amore granted him N200,000 bail with two surety in like sum.

The surety is required to be gainfully employed and furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till November 25, 2019 for mention.
