A 36-year-old man, identified as Ekechukwu Chimagorom, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing truck parts at Kirikiri Town, Lagos.
Chimagoron is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on October 3, 2018 at Mary Omobhue Street, Kirikiri Town, Lagos.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to steal two truck steerings, valued at N70,000 and two truck injectors valued at N160,000, property of one Osonu Ndudi and Sons Enterprises,” Onaiwu said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Magistrate, O.S Abioye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate must be gainfully employed and furnish the court with proof of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
One of the sureties must be a blood relative to the defendant.
He adjourned the case till December 20, 2018 for mention.
