Truck driver docked for stealing N.1m

A 30-year-old truck driver, Sule Moshood, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing N100,000 being money meant for proceeds in Apapa

Moshood is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 24, 2019 at Ijora-Badia, Apapa.

“The defendant stole N100,000 property of one Yinusa Abdullahi,” Ekpo said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate Adegboyega Popoola granted him N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum.

The surety is required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till October 10, 2019 for trial.
