Two men docked for stealing phone, cash in Apapa

15 Nigerians arrested in Malaysia for fraud 

 

Two men, Shola David (26) and Emmanuel Enahoro (22), were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing phone and cash sum of N5,000 in Apapa.

The duo is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Gbenga Salami, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on February 8, 2020 at about 8:30pm at No 14, Evie Street, Ajegunle, Apapa.

“The defendants conspired together to steal an Infinite handset valued at N40,000 and cash sum of N5,000, properties of one Azeez Gafari and one Alhaja Bola Oriola,” Salami said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate O.A Erinle granted the defendants bail in the sum of N80,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with 6 months bank statement and evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case till March 2, 2020 for mention.
