Police charge two for stealing motorcycle

Two men — Umoru Sambo (31) and Abdulazeez Musa (28) — were on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

Sambo and Musa are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 26, 2019 at about 3pm at Abule-Oshun area of Satellite Town, Lagos.

“The defendants conspired together to steal one Bajaj motorcycle with registration number LND 322 QG valued at N155,000 property of one Musa Abdullahi,” Inedu said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Magistrate M. Owumi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum.

The surety, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till April 29, 2019 for mention.
