An Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday resumed the trial of a tanker driver, Rilwan Aliyu for allegedly stealing 50,000 litres of petrol belonging to Zamson Global Resource Limited.
Aliyu is facing a two-count
The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Anim told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 3, 2017 at about 10am at No. 12, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Coconut Bus Stop, Apapa.
Anim said, “The defendant conspired with others to steal N50,000 litres of PMS product, laden truck with registration number KMC 303 YD valued N3,900,000 property of Zamson Global Resource Limited.”
According to him, the offences are punishable under section 409 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
In the course of the trial, the Defence Counsel, Dadi Mannap asked the court to change his client’s bail conditions on the ground that the present conditions were too difficult to meet.
Magistrate Adenike Alaka had earlier granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos Government.
She adjourned the case till
