Police arraign two men for stealing at NPA headquarters

The Port Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (PCIID) of the Nigeria Police Force has arraigned two suspects, Abulkareem Afeez (23) and Solomon Oghenekaro (27) before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 12 packets of toner at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) headquarters.

Both suspects are facing the re-arraignment on a two-count bothering on conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Anim told the court that the defendants committed the offence on February 12, 2018 at about 6am at NPA headquarters, Marina, Lagos.

The defendants, Anim said, stole eight pieces of Sharp toners, three pieces of HP toners and one Xerox computer toner property of NPA.

According to him, the offence contravenes Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge brought against them.

Magistrate Adenike Alaka granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case till July 31, 2018 for mention.
