A 30-year-old motorboy, Emeka Okoduwa was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing truck parts worth N505,000.
Okoduwa is facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on August 27, 2018 at about 4am at Olodi-Apapa.
“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal four truck tyres with rim valued at N400,000, three truck kick-starters valued at N90,000 and twenty pieces of nuts valued at N10,000,” Obongha said.
The prosecutor also said that the total amount of truck parts stolen worth N500,000 property of Yerima Investment Limited.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 409 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Magistrate O.S Aboiye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the matter till September 11, 2018 for mention.
