A 34-year-old motorboy, Raji Yusuf, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing plywood worth N60,000 in Lagos.
Yusuf is facing a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Iyabosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 25, 2018 at about 10am at Premier Hotel, Old Ojo Road, Agbogu, Lagos.
“The defendant stole six pieces of plywood valued at N60,000, property of one Kayode Ajibade,” Onaiwu said.
According to her, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Magistrate, O.S Abioye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till January 28, 2019 for mention.
