Police arraign three men for stealing propeller cover

The police on Tuesday arraigned three men before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing brass propeller cover valued at N1,350,000 at Kirikiri Town, Apapa.

The trio, Abel Abah (25), Akor Emmanuel (27) and Ameh Adakole (27), is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Julius Babatope, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 9, 2020 at Kirikiri Town, Apapa.

“The defendants conspired together with others at large to steal one brass propeller cover valued at N1,350,000 property of Raji Industries Limited,” Babatope said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate R.E Ojudun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like  sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till March 25, 2020 for mention.
