Police probe Customs officer’s suicide in Kano 

Agents risk N5m fine, imprisonment for violations under new Customs law 

 

The police has begun investigation into an alleged suicide by a Chief Superintendent of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Abdulwahab Magaji.

Magaji, who, until his death, was serving in the  Abuja headquarters of the NCS, reportedly shot himself with a pump action gun at his Farm Centre Quarters in Kano, a few days ago.

The reason for his action remains unclear.

Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident, said the command has flagged off full scale investigation into the reported case of suicide of the Customs officer.
