Qatar’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti has submitted the country’s candidature for the membership of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) executive council under category c.
Al Sulaiti submitted the candidature when he met with IMO Secretary General, Kitack Lim, at the organisation’s headquarters in London.
The meeting also discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and IMO in the field of marine transport and means of further developing them.
The meeting was attended by Qatar’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Yousef bin Ali Al Khater.
The Minister also headed Qatar’s delegation to the IMO Council meetings, which started Tuesday in London, to discuss the executive activities and policies of the organization as well as financial matters.
