Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has retired three staff and deployed four others in the wake of scandal over missing petrol.
Among those retired are Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, managing director of NNPC Retail; Alpha Mamza, executive of operations in NNPC Retail, and Oluwa Erinoso, manager for distribution at NNPC Retail.
A statement by NNPC spokesman Ndu Ughamadu said their retirement was in line with ongoing reforms in the corporation.
But reports have linked their retirement to the 100 million litres ‘missing’ petrol scandal involving Capital Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited.
The ‘missing’ petrol worth over N14 billion was said to have been stored at private depots under a throughput arrangement with NNPC.
The deployments according to Ughamadu which take immediate effect are Adeyemi Adetunji, Managing Director of NNPC Retail Ltd; Lawal Bello, Executive Director, Operations, NNPC Retail Ltd; Affiong Akpasubi, Executive Director, Services, NNPC Retail Ltd; and Agwandas A. Andrawus, Manager, Distribution, NNPC Retail Ltd.
Until his new assignment as the Managing Director of NNPC Retail Ltd, Adetunji was General Manager, Strategy & Planning, Gas & Power and also former General Manager, Transformation Office.
