The port of Singapore has moved lower container throughput in February compared to the year-ago figure, according to preliminary estimates from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
Singapore handled box volumes of 2.3 million TEU in February 2017, down 3.4% from 2.38 million TEU posted in February 2016, MPA data showed.
Container throughput last month also declined compared to 2.62 million TEU recorded in January this year.
In the first two months of 2017, Singapore port posted a total throughput of 4.92 million TEU, an increase of 1% compared to 4.87 million TEU registered in the previous corresponding period.
