The Tin-Can Island Port 2, Customs Command, Ijora on Thursday said that it generated over N908 million for the month of November.
The command, in a release made available to newsmen in Lagos said that the figure was N34 million lower than the N942 million revenue recorded in October.

The command’s Assistant Public Relations Officer, Adeola Rasheed, who signed the release, said that the figure was still impressive in view of low importation activities at the ports due to forex scarcity.

Rasheed said that the November figure brought the total revenue recorded by the command in the last 11 months toN7.556 billion.

He said that the command had improved its fortunes in the last one year due to the various reforms implemented by the Controller, Alhaji Abdulkadir Dalhatu.

Rasheed mentioned the reforms to include training and retraining of personnel, promotion of ICT use to enhance efficiency and accountability and rebranding of the command from Lilypond to Tin-Can Island 2.

He said that the controller had put in place other mechanisms to attract cargoes to the command as a strategy to further improve the revenue profile of the command.
