The ruling came after the traffic offender was found guilty of careless and dangerous driving by the court.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on December 18, 2018 on Dillion Road, Apapa.

“The defendant being the driver in charge of Mack truck with registration number KJA 473 XF drove same vehicle on the public highway in a careless or inconsiderate manner,” Ekpo said.

The prosecutor also said that the defendant drove same vehicle in a reckless and dangerous driving.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 18 and 19 of the Road Traffic Law 2012.

Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni sentenced the defendant after he pleaded guilty to the charges.
