A woman and three other men were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates´ Court for allegedly stealing the sum of N349,110 made from petrol sales in Apapa.
The woman, Annie Udoh (25) and the three men identified as John Kelechi (20), Wills Elijah (24) and Uchenna Chaidinotu (27) are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 22, 2019 at about 11:30am at No 35, Oyebo Street, Olodi-Apapa.
“The defendants conspired together to steal the total sum of N349,110 made from petrol sales being the property of one Mr Joseph Ebong,” Onaiwu said.
According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 412 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
All the defendants pleaded not guilty. Magistrate T. Shekoni-Adeyekun granted each of them bail in the sum of N30,000 with one surety each in like sum.
She adjourned the case till May 14, 2019 for mention.
