Young Shall Grow drags staff to court over engine oil theft

Young Shall Grow Transport Company on Tuesday dragged three of its workers before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 10 litres of engine oil in Lagos.

The three men, Emeka Obi (52), Igere Bright (32) and Tochukwu Obugor (22), are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Bassey, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 9, 2019 at about 1:30pm at Young Shall Grow Transport Company, Alakija Satellite Town, Lagos.

“The defendants conspired together with others at large to steal 10 litres of engine oil valued at N18,000 property of the Young Shall Grow Transport Company represented by one Cyprian Nwankwo,” Bassey said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate A.S Okubule granted the defendants bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety each in like sum.

She adjourned the case till May 13, 2019 for mention.
