Man docked for stealing Honeywell’s conveyor cable

A 42-year-old man, identified as Taofeek Ayoade, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a conveyor cable belonging to Honeywell Flour Mill Plc.

Ayoade is facing a lone count charge of stealing.

The port prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 6, 2018, at about 5am at Multimalt Building of Honeywell Flour Mill Plc, Tin Can, Apapa.

“The defendant did steal a conveyor cable valued at N150,000 property of Honeywell Flour Mill Plc,” Esebamen said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni adjourned the case till September 17, 2018 for facts and sentence.
