Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday sacked the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Lawal Daura.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, made the disclosure in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the statement, no reason was given for the action but Daura was directed to hand over to the most senior officer in the organisation.
It reads, “The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has directed the termination of the appointment of the Director-General, State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura with immediate effect.
“Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice.”
It is unclear if Osinbajo’s action is connected with the siege laid to the National Assembly on Tuesday morning.
