The outgoing President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adeyanju Adewale, has endorsed Comrade Francis Bunu Abi as his successor.
This endorsement was made weekend at a gathering attended by MWUN executives and industry stakeholders in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Members from all MWUN branches in Port Harcourt, Warri, Calabar, and Akwa Ibom were in attendance, reinforcing the union’s unity ahead of the election.
With MWUN’s national election approaching on March 28, Adeyanju’s endorsement of Bunu signals strong support for his leadership in advancing workers’ welfare and industry reforms.
Comrade Adeyanju has expressed confidence in Comrade Francis Bunu, describing him as a good administrator who will defend the workers’ trust and welfare.
“The incoming President General would perform more than me, and that’s my prayer,” Adeyanju said, emphasizing his belief in Bunu’s ability to lead the union effectively.
