Court remands man for unauthorised possession of power pole in Apapa

An Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Thursday remanded a 35-year-old man, Usman Abdullahi, for allegedly having in his possession one power pole without authority in Apapa.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Obongha , told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 22, 2019 at about 4:30am along Okoduwa Street, Kirikiri Town, Apapa.

“The defendant had in his possession one street light power pole which when he was questioned could not give a reasonable account of how he came about it,” Obongha said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 329 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate S.F Aisha adjourned the case till April 29, 2019 for facts and sentence.
