Customs unveils camouflage uniform for combat operations

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has acquired a new camouflage uniform for combat operations.
Disclosing this in Abuja on Wednesday, Customs Comptroller General, Dikko Inde Abdulahi said the uniform would be used for national security operations adding that it would be worn by officers during anti-smuggling and anti terrorism operations at the nation’s borders.
Abdulahi explained that the introduction of the ‘special’ uniform was part of his administration determination to build confident and well motivated personnel in the system.
The customs boss therefore called on the public to support the NCS in its drive to modernize its operation.
“We have trained our routine officers in combat operations against smuggling and we have even gone ahead to train some in anti terrorism. We have also come out with a new uniform to show our readiness in combating illicit activities at our borders,” he said.
He added that the new uniform will enhance the commitment of officers to duty saying that “what we wear inspires confidence in our officers and boost their morale and combatant readiness.”
He said the camouflage uniform is not going to be used as office uniform but for officers who are specially trained for special operations.
