A 37-year-old driver, Akeem Akanji, was on Monday arraigned in an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for alleged reckless and dangerous driving.
The prosecutor, Ejembi Augustine, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Dec. 15, 2016 at about 9:00 a.m. along 2nd Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos.
Augustine said the defendant drove a Venango Bus with REG. NO. KSF 672 KM on the public high way in a dangerous and reckless manner. He also allegedly drove against oncoming traffic and without a driving license.
He said the offences contravened Sections 19 (1), 7 (b) and 7 (1) of the Road Traffic Act, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr T.A Babalola, adjourned the case till Dec. 20, 2016 for fact and sentence.
