Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Mohammed Babandede said the agency generated more than N38 billion between January and December 2017.
He disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja during an operational review meeting with zonal coordinators and Comptrollers of commands.
The sum was generated from the passport revenue, address verification fee, non refundable administration fee, e-pass among others, according to the NIS boss.
Babandede said the NIS also generated about $28,850, 654. 00 from passports and $1, 087,950.00 from Carrier liability/Visa on arrival from foreign collection.
He disclosed that part of the revenue generated had been paid into the government account.
Babandede also tasked Senior officers of the Service to embrace President Muhammadu Buhari’s initiative on the Ease of Doing Business and the opportunity in the agricultural sector for sustainable alternative as they approach retirement.
