A 42-year-old man, identified as Uchenna Okolafo, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a shuttle bus valued at N400,000 in Lagos.
Okolafo is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Bassey, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on October 10, 2019 at about 9pm at Alakija area of Lagos State.
“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal one shuttle bus with registration number FST 319 XN valued at N400,000 property of one Lukman Azeez,” Bassey said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Magistrate Tolani Shekoni-Adeyekun granted him N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties are required to be gainfully employed and furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case till October 24, 2019 for mention.
