Man docked for stealing N18m truck

A 27-year-old man, Abu Alimi, was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a truck belonging to Regent Transport Company. 

The defendant was on a count charge bothering on stealing. 

The prosecutor, Sergeant Alexander Esebamen, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence on September 27, 2017 at Regent Transport Company, KLT Phase 1, Apapa. 

Esebamen said Alimi stole one Howo truck with registration number EPE 466 XS valued N18,096,039 property of Regent Transport Company. 

The 27-year-old denied the allegation, which Esebamen said contravened section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate Adenike Alaka granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. 

She adjourned the case till November 20, 2017 for mention.
