Man docked for forging Customs documents 

Police arraign truck driver, motor boy for diesel theft

A 45-year-old clearing agent, Austine Dickson, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly forging Nigeria Customs Service documents at Clarion Terminal, Alakija, Lagos.

Dickson is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on October 26, 2018 at about 4pm at Clarion Terminal, Alakija, Lagos.

“The defendant conspired together with others to forge Nigeria Customs documents to clear one Lexus 250 unregistered fairly used vehicle at Clarion Terminal, Alakija, Satellite Town, Lagos,” Inedu said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 365 (1)(a)(b)(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties each in like sum.

The sureties, according to the Magistrate must be gainfully employed in a reputable organization and must furnish the court with evidence of three years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till November 30, 2018 for mention.
