Man docked for stealing soldier’s motorcycle in Apapa

A 34-year-old man, Ademu Mohammed was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle belonging to one Sergeant John Michael of the Nigerian Army. 

The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 22, 2017 at Arakan Barracks, Apapa.

Inedu said the defendant stole one Bajaj unregistered motorcycle valued N220,000 belonging to Michael.

According to him, the offence contravened Sections 280 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge against him.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety.

He adjourned the case till February 5, 2018 for mention.
