Motorboys bag 75 hours community service for stealing phone

An Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced two motorboys to 75 hours community service for stealing phone.

Giving the facts of the case, the prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Obongha, said that the defendants committed the offences on January 17, 2019 at about 5:40pm at Finger Bus Stop, Satellite Town, Lagos.

“The defendants conspired together with others at large to steal one Infinix Hot 6 Camera Phone valued at N52,000 property of one Oliseh Emmanuel Precious.” Obongha said.

The prosecutor also said that the defendants assaulted Precious by giving him fist blow on his mouth which caused him bodily harm.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 287 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The two motorboys namely, Kingsley Nkem (21) and David Okon (32), pleaded guilty to all the charges brought against them.

Magistrate K.A Ariyo sentenced the accused to 75 hours community service.
