A mariner fell from the open hatch bulk carrier Federal Champlain, owned by Canadian shipowner Fednav.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) said on Thursday it was deploying a team of investigators to Montreal, Quebec, to assess the man overboard incident from the bulk carrier.

As informed, there were no fatalities.

Further details on what was the cause of the incident and the condition of the mariner were not disclosed.

“The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence,” the agency added.

The Marshall Islands-flagged Laker, featuring 34,600 dwt, is fully laden.
