A 45-year-old man identified as Dare Ojajuni was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing one fibre boat valued at N500,000 at Kirikiri.
Ojajuni is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Donjor Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between October 22 and November 8, 2018 at about 10:11am at Doyin Jetty, Kirikiri
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to fraudulently steal one fibre boat valued at N500,000 property of one Timi Iyala,” Perezi said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Magistrate, O. S Abioye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two responsible sureties each in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate must be gainfully employed in a reputable organization and must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till January 7, 2019 for mention.
