Man pleads guilty to stealing truck driver’s phone, cash 

Fake travel agent docked for N265,000 visa fraud

An 18-year-old man, identified as Sunday Abram, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing mobile phone and money belonging to a truck driver in Apapa.

Abram is facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tedunjade, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on November 12, 2018 at about 5:10pm at Ijora 7up under bridge, Apapa.

“The defendant stole one Tecno Camon X mobile phone valued at N55,000 with the sum of N50,000 cash, property of a truck driver, Maxwell Chukwuma,” Tedunjade said.

According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 412 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Magistrate B.A. Amore adjourned the matter till November 28, 2018 for facts and sentence.
