Man pleads guilty to damaging Mercedes Benz cars in Apapa

A 21-year-old man identified as Emmanuel Chukwudi was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly damaging tow Mercedes Benz cars in Kirikiri, Apapa.

Chukwudi is facing a two-count charge of malicious damage and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 7, 2019 at about 4:30am at No 110, Kirikiri Road, Olodi-Apapa.

“The defendant maliciously damaged the door glass of unregistered Mercedes Benz GL450 4matic Jeep valued at N45,000 property of one Odika Obioma,” Obongha said.

The prosecutor also said that the defendant stole one set of bumper chrome of Mercedes Benz C280 with registration number KTU 360 FS valued at N25,000 property of one Bola Tinubu.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 339 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges.

Magistrate K.A Ariyo adjourned the case till July 11, 2019 for fact and sentence.
